SKI WATCH ESTATES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
Lake Improvement Committee Meeting Minutes – 4 January 2010
Committee Attendees: Shawn McCann, Tom Johnson, Frank Harwood, Phil Gallmeier, George Pichel, Morris Ross
Discussion
Approach: digging 1 foot on the average.
Dredging options: pumping, augering + pumping. Would need settling ponds for pumping operations.
Digging: an uneven and long process.
Ideal approach: remove silt up to the course then cut a deep trench thru the course.
A minimum goal is to take the muck out.
Action: George will call Randy to see what his recommendation is.
Dredging priorities:
1) Lake 4 at the drops
2) Demuck 3 and 4 and 5 behind the houses.
3) Then lake 1
4) Then lake 2
5) Then sculpting lake 4 in the course area maybe 6” deeper.
Spoils: The cost of transporting spoils off the Ski Watch property would be prohibitive.
Action: George will inquire as to how augers work/operate
Action: Shawn will inquire as to the permitting required and see if there is a difference of dredging vs. pumping for the permitting process.
Action: get permission from McKenzies to deposit spoils on their property. Frank and Shawn will set up a meeting with McKenzie.
